My Journey

Amie is an MSW candidate with the University of Alabama. She also holds a Masters in Special Education from National University, California and a Bachelors in Social Work from Kansas State University. She has 18 years of experience working with families and children in the areas of mental health, child development, domestic violence, and child welfare services. She holds a Perinatal Mental Health for Professionals Certificate from Postpartum Support International. She has a passion for policy, advocacy and community change to improve maternal-infant birth outcomes, especially for women of color.

She specializes in working with families from conception through the early parenting years, supporting parent-child bonding, parent mental health and child development through education and play. Most importantly, she is just a mom with a passion to support other moms in the journey of parenthood. She hopes to create a safe, loving space for all caregivers, especially during the perinatal period to help support healthy mamas, healthy families and healthy babies.
